I’d like to wish all my friends, witches, mages, wizards, and fairy kin a very happy and blessed Litha. May your Solstice fire burn bright, and your year be a bountiful one. Merry meet and blessed be.
With the return of cold and flu season (and other viruses that shall not be named), it’s time to stock the freezer with chicken soup. The last thing anyone feels like doing when they aren’t feeling well is cooking, so make a big pot ahead of time and separate it out into individual or family size portions for the freezer. Then, when illness strikes, just pull them out and heat them up! What could be easier? This recipe (shown in my gallery) includes a blend of healthy, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial herbs & vegetables. Thyme and lemongrass are both helpful herbs for throat issues as well.
I’d like to wish all those who celebrate the old ways a very happy and blessed Mabon. For those who aren’t familiar with the pagan calendar, it is the Autumnal Equinox, sometimes called “Harvest Home.” It’s the second equinox of the year, a day where night and day are in balance. For those who celebrate it is our traditional thanksgiving, where we express our gratitude for the bounty Mother Earth has provided. It’s also one of the oldest known historical holidays, being celebrated for several millennia. But along with night and day being equal, Mabon is when everything in our world is in balance. It’s a day where we prepare for the coming winter, as night overtakes day. I’ll be spending the day making jams, apple butter, and other canned foods. Come join me for a canning party if you’d like. Exchanges are welcome, or if you’d just like to learn or spend time celebrating the day, my door is open to you. Blessed be and Merry meet.

Residents of Stargazer Island: When Officer George Addison makes his rounds today, don’t forget to stop and wish him a very happy birthday. George has been with the Island PD since he turned 21. That’s sixteen years now. And he’s served the people of Stargazer Island faithfully the whole time. No easy feat when dealing with an island full of Otherkind. So make him feel special today, and tonight, join us at Polaris as we lift a glass to toast Stargazer’s favorite police officer!
So, guys. The gals started having Girls’ Nights every Wednesday. And we’ve been ordered not to interfere (I don’t know about you, but I do NOT want to know what their punishment will be if we do interrupt whatever girlie rituals they hold). Anyway, I thought we could start a Wednesday Night Poker Night. Beer, chips, cards, action movies… You know, man cave staples. I’ll host the first one next week. Who’s in?
Little sister, the Mother truly blessed our family the day you were born. I know now that you're starting high school and all you'll be too busy to hang out with your older brother and his wife, but just know, Sonya and I will always be here for you, anytime you need us.
Have a great birthday, Siobhan! We can't wait to celebrate with you tonight.
Happy birthday, Tsunami! I know you’re somewhere hunting down serial killers and saving lives, but I hope wherever you are, you get a chance to take a second and have a drink. We’re raising a glass in your honor here tonight, man. And next time you come visit, Sonya will have a birthday cake for you.
Stargazer Pack-mates, ears up! We’re having a pack run Saturday night in the Eastern Woods. Come to the McKenzie House for dinner first, and we’ll leave from there as the moon rises. All shifters welcome, both Guarded and Endangered. For any Endangered Shifters who want to fly, Island Police have coordinated with the Coast Guard. No boats will be allowed on the eastern side of the island after sunset. As long as you stay below the tree line until you’re well offshore, you’ll be able to remain out of view of any human tourists. Visiting shifters are welcome to join us as well. Just message me to let me know to expect you. See you all then! And happy hunting.
